Xbox has been so famous at the dawn of 21^st century since it is one of the most interactive online games consoles ever built with its appropriate Xbox controller. Its capability to connect to the Internet which enables players through a big networks of players; thus, the fun you can experience is too much.

The original Xbox controller has been called the “Duke controller”; it has analog sticks (two sticks), one pressure-sensitive pad, one “Back” button, one “Start” button and two triggers (analog). Moreover, there are also six action buttons and two accessory slots. The action buttons include:

• A = Green
• B = Red
• X = Blue
• Y = Yellow
• White Button
• Black Button

Although the duke controller has been the default Xbox controller in all countries except Japan, it has been criticized because it was a bit bulky compared to other game consoles’ controllers. In fact, online games Informer has awarded the duke controller as “Blunder of the Year” in the year 2001 and was ranked second to be the worst controller for video games. In the year 2008, the Guinness World Records Gamer’s Edition criticized duke controller to be the biggest controller in its category.

However, because of those criticisms, Xbox has evolved more than anyone could imagine that it becomes one of the best video games in the 21^st century. Along with the evolution, the Xbox controller online games must also evolve with the demands and it did!

A PlayStation Controller maybe just a little piece of electronic device with few electronic parts inside it, but the fact is, you can never play your e-games console without it. This device has only two basic functions; on and off. That’s right! If you have read any articles on electronics, you will know that Integrated circuits have those functions only. When you press on any of the buttons in your PlayStation Controller that sends a signal to the main processor telling it that such function is set to “ON”, thus, a specific action in your e-games are performed. Otherwise, you won’t see any actions performed on your screen.

Now, if you have an older version of PlayStation, its controllers will also work with PlayStation 2 e-games consoles but will never work on PlayStation 3. Likewise, PlayStation 2 controllers will also work for PlayStation but never on PS3. It is because; a specific IC is made to match its interface with the other. Thus, any incompatible IC’s can never communicate with each other.

The first two models of PlayStation have the same layout used in their controllers that’s why they also have the same functions when used interchangeably. However, PlayStation 3 has a really different circuit layout with a different IC used that is why controllers from the earlier versions cannot be interpreted by the main processor.

So, there is only one thing you must understand: if you are to buy a PlayStation Controller, you must first know the model of your PlayStation console.
